What is Morpheus8?
Morpheus8 is a cutting-edge treatment for skin cancer that stimulates collagen production in the skin’s underlying layers. Basically, this fractional treatment penetrates the deeper layers of the skin and fat to rev up collagen and elastin production to promote a smoother, youthful appearance. How do I prepare for my Morpheus8:
2 weeks: Avoid sun exposure (tans/burns/tanning beds/spray tans)
10-14 days: Avoid taking NSAIDS (Aspirin, ibuprofen, etc.), Vitamin E, Fish oil, Gingko Biloba, Ginseng, and St. John’s Wart to reduce your risk of bruising and swelling.
1 week: Consider taking Arnica tablets 1 week prior to minimize the risk of bruising. Arnica can be found at any health food store.
1 week: avoid retinols/tretinoins, and glycolic/salicylic acids.
2 days before: Avoid consuming alcohol and/or smoking.
What can I expect during and after treatment with Morpheus8?
What happens during the Morpheus8 treatment?
The procedure is performed using local anesthetic numbing cream, which is applied about 30-45 minutes prior. This helps the skin feel numb and makes the treatment more comfortable. Your treatment provider will then select the appropriate, custom settings for you depending on the area being treated, such as the face, eyes, or body. Then your provider will apply the handpiece to the treatment area and deliver the radiofrequency. The whole area is treated, and some areas may need additional passes. The procedure takes about 30-45 minutes (about 75 min total). We usually recommend a series of 3 or 6 sessions to achieve the best results. Each treatment should be spaced apart by 4-6 weeks apart.
Is there any downtime with Morpheus8?
Morpheus8 is a minimally invasive procedure with very little downtime. Patients will experience minimal pinkness/ redness that may last up to a week. Superficial bruising may occur, typically around the eyes. Small needle marks may be present for a few days to a week.
Post-procedure: Initially, the skin will feel tight and hot. We always recommend and provide our post-treatment skincare to help accelerate healing and improve outcomes. Once your session is complete, you are free to continue your daily activities, with plenty of sunscreen, of course.
AFTER YOUR PROCEDURE
2-3 hours (preferably just before bedtime): You may use a gentle cleanser to wash your face.
1 day: You may use a gentle cleanser, serums, light moisturizer, sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher), and mineral-based makeup using clean hands/sponges/brushes. Your Aesthetician will suggest our post-care regimen to accelerate healing and soothe the skin.
2 days: Avoid consuming alcohol and/or smoking 2 days after your procedure.
4 days: Avoid taking NSAIDS (Aspirin, ibuprofen, etc.), Vitamin E, Fish oil, Gingko Biloba, Ginseng, and St. John’s Wort to reduce your risk of bruising and swelling.
1 week: You may start using your regular skin care regimen. Using a retinol product is strongly recommended as it will optimize your results.
10 days: Avoid direct sun exposure for 10 days post-treatment. NO TANNING BEDS.
When can I expect to see results with Morpheus8?
You can expect visible improvement within a few days. The most noticeable results appear typically in about three to four weeks, however, skin improvements can continue for up to three months following your treatment. Your results will continue to improve as time goes on. The microneedling technology stimulates collagen production in your skin’s structure. As your skin heals over the tiny pinpricks, you will see more rejuvenated skin than ev
er. In other words, your Morpheus8 treatment results will only improve with time.
